Terms and Conditions
Any cancellations must be made at least 7 days prior to the date of the event. If you fail to cancel your booking before this date you will be charged 20% of the original booking.
Booking deposits will not be refunded under any circumstance after the above mentioned time frame.
Paying a booking deposit for your event or function is a 100% binding guarantee of contract.
Any non payment of a deposit could allow us to change our work schedule without prior notice.
The hirer is responsible for any damage to our equipment caused by any person at your event. You will be charged for the full cost of any repairs and expenses incurred during the repair period. You will be advised of any damage as soon as it is caused and notified of the repair cost as soon as possible. (See section 7)
We do not tolerate violent, aggressive or abusive behaviour from anyone under any circumstances. We also reserve the right to terminate our services at any time that we feel our personal safety is under threat. We do not take responsibility for ejecting any unwanted persons from any venue. You will be advised of any problems that we may have in this respect with any of your guests.
Failed payment of any fees owed within 15 days after the date of the event will result in legal action. We understand and will exercise our statutory right to interest and compensation for debt recovery costs under the late payment legislation if we are not paid according to agreed credit terms.
We need a minimum of one hour to enter a venue and set up prior to the start time and also a similar time allowance at the end of the night to pack up. This time can be reduced if access to the venue is good.
We reserve the right to refuse to continue any event prior to the start should there be insufficient floor space, which would not allow the audio and lighting equipment to be assembled safely.
We reserve the right to substitute alternative entertainment should uncontrollable circumstances dictate the need to do so.
We will not be responsible for any damage or loss to private or public property caused by invited or uninvited guests.
All road show equipment that is used is frequently checked and tested for safety by a qualified electrical engineer. If we are linking our equipment within a fixed in-house audio system, we reserve the right to refuse to do so if the equipment is considered to be unsafe or liable to cause damage to any component linked to it.
It is the responsibility of the hirer to make sure that there is an adequate provision of electrical power within ten metres of our set-up point. We require a minimum of 2 x 10amp outlets dedicated purely for our equipment (not in the form of an extension lead). Any damage caused to our equipment by an inadequate power supply or power interruption is the responsibility of the hirer; a site survey can be carried out at no additional cost. The hirer/client is fully responsible for any damage caused to the equipment caused by the use of noise limiters and the subsequent cut off and reintroduction of power without our consultation.
All bookings should be taken on the understanding that the venue is in possession of the necessary entertainment & liquor licenses. We are not responsible if the venue is found to be in breach of the terms of their license.
The DJ and their crew will conduct themselves in a proper manner throughout their attendance at the venue, and will respond to the Management's requests as to volume level, sitting of equipment and/or any other reasonable requests.
We will not be liable for non-fulfillment of this contract by the Management and/or the DJ, although every reasonable precaution will be taken. In the event of the client seeking compensation, NFE will not be liable under any such claim, and the DJ will only be liable for a sum up to and not exceeding the contracted amount
Full payment must be made at least 48hrs prior to commencement of event, all cheques must be cleared by this time. in some circumstances with prior arrangement we will allow payment to be made on the day/night of the event prior to set up, the DJ will not begin set up until payment has been made in full (cheques do not apply for this option).
Prices listed in the rates page of this website are for standard sized events. E.g. A hall with a capacity of 400 people or less. Please inform us if you intend to exceed the above mentioned capacity, in which case, we will offer to bring out the big boys toys at an additional cost (Bigger sound system).

Our DJs are well presented and will always dress to suit the occasion. The booking process will include dress code, running sheet and special requests. Our DJs are polite, helpful, approachable and friendly.

Our DJs carry an extensive collection of all genres and eras. What ever the style of music is required for the occasion, we will endeavour to find a suitable DJ, failing which we may not entertain your booking. We encourage our clients to list their favourite tracks as long as the list is made available to use at least 48 Hours prior to the function.
Our sound and lighting equipment are of highest standard and well maintained. Depending on the type of function, venue and the package you choose will determine the quality of the production. The number to guests attending the function will determine the type of package we will recommend.

Our prices are very fair and competitive. Please remember, the final production of the evening will determined by your budget.

Q: What are your service areas?
A: We travel far and wide in Victoria. However, for locations outside the metro will incur additional charges.

Q: How many years of professional experience do you have?
A: Groovetraders comprise of many experienced DJ?s. We will provide a suitable DJ for you function, depending on you requirement.

Q: Will you assist us in pre-planning our reception?
A: Yes, we can provide you assistance on most occasions. If not, we will most certainly be able to find a service personnel.

Q: Can we meet our DJ before the event?
A: Depending on the event type, you will meet your DJ prior to the event. If it is a wedding, we most certainly prefer to meet you to cover all of the details of your wedding reception.

Q: Does the DJ make all the announcements?
A: Yes, our DJ are trained to make formal announcements, including MC.

Q: Do you have a variety of music?
A: All our DJ?s have playlist of approximately 6000. Though, it is not possible to carry every song ever recorded, we can assure you we will definitely have all your favorites and Top40. However, If you don't have a particular song, please let us know prior to the event and we will be able to find it for you.

Q: Do you take requests ?
A: Yes we most certainly do. However, if you stipulate not to play a certain song or type of songs, we will adhere to your request even it means disappointing your guest when the request the excluded songs.

Q: Can we bring our own CD for you to play?
A: Yes, you are most certainly encouraged to bring along your CD.

Q: Can you provide music for the ceremony ?
A: Yes. Please refer our Wedding running sheet for suggestions

Q: DJ Dress code?
A: As long as you clearly specify the Dress Code, our DJ?s will be attiring to it.

Q: Do you use professional equipment?
A: Yes. We ONLY use professional audio visual equipments.
Q: Can we control the volume at the event?
A: Yes. Our volume levels will not exceed the EPA endorsed levels at the venue.

Q: Will our DJ be there on time?
A: Depending on the size and type of your function, we will always allow sufficient time to set up. Sound and lighting check will be completed prior to the arrival of your guests.

Q: Do your DJ take any breaks?
A: No.

Q: What is the deposit?
A: We take a $50.00 non-refundable deposit. However, if you provide sufficient cancellation notice we will fully refund the deposit.
